Alt codes - are shortcuts for typing symbols from keyboard. It's available on computers running Windows OS. But don't get sad if you are not runnig Windows. There are plenty of other ways to type text symbols from keyboardon Mac and on Linux.

There's no alt code for the peace sign. And remember that all alt codes are listed at alt-codes.org. So if you don't see some symbol here, it just means that there's no alt code for it. It's a differently encoded character and isn't part of alt codes. So you can only type it in MS Word.

I can't type alt code symbols between 1-32 but I can type others. Why?

I don't know. Works for me.. Make sure you're not typing "01" instead of "1". If that's not the problem, read How to do symbols by using keyboard Alt codes carefully and watch my video.

I don't think you can. Read Keyboard symbols. You'll find there another way to type symbols. As soon as the rupee will get implemented into your computer. It's in Unicode only since 2010 October..
