What 𐊧 means
It is distinct; scholarly tables transliterate it as Latin “a.” That spelling represents a reading in another alphabet, not a word translation.
The Carian script wrote the Carian language in names, funerary texts, graffiti, decrees, and bilingual inscriptions.
The oldest known example is a funerary dedication at Sais, dated to the seventh century BCE. In Caria the inscriptions run left to right; in Egypt, right to left. Word dividers are irregular.
Why do Carian letters resemble Greek?
Resemblance does not establish shared values.
Some signs look Greek, but their values often differ. Bilingual inscriptions helped revise readings; the scripts’ exact relationship remains uncertain.

1Why does 𐊧 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
