What 𐠟 means
It is the Cypriot syllabary sign conventionally transliterated pe.
Here, pe is the Latin-letter label for a sign that writes one open consonant-vowel syllable, not a standalone word. Cypriot spelling splits consonant clusters across syllable signs and uses signs from the e-series—the group paired with the vowel conventionally written e—to spell word-final consonants.
The earliest known syllabic evidence is an 11th-century BCE group of incised bronze obeloi, or spits, from Palaepaphos-Skales. The main surviving corpus spans the 8th to 3rd/2nd centuries BCE. The script developed from the earlier Cypro-Minoan tradition, which is related to Linear B, and was used for Arcado-Cypriot Greek, a local Greek variety, and, around Amathus, Eteocypriot, another language of the island. Most surviving texts are stone dedications or grave inscriptions; others appear on pottery and metal. It disappeared during the Hellenistic period as alphabetic Greek took over.
Why does 𐠟 show as a box?
An empty box means your font lacks this character’s glyph.
Fonts supply the drawn shape, so a font without Cypriot Syllabary coverage may show an empty square. The common Cypriot syllabary is usually written right to left; the Paphian syllabary of southwest Cyprus is usually written left to right. Direction changes the page layout, not the sign’s syllabic value.

Questions people ask
1Can 𐠟 spell a b sound?
Yes. The p-series could spell syllables beginning with p, b, or an aspirated p—a p pronounced with an extra puff of air. In scholarly Latin transliteration, that last value is written ph.
