What 𐔞 means
No; it labels an Albanian letter. In modern Albanian writing, its counterpart is “th,” two letters used for one sound.
The Elbasan alphabet was devised around 1750 for an Albanian translation of Christian Gospel passages in a handwritten book dated 1761. As of 2024, this is the script’s only known example. Most of its forms seem newly made, though some may reflect Greek or Cyrillic models.
