What 𐿧 means
It marks a consonant inside a written word. Scholars write it as ḥ: a Latin h with a dot underneath.
Elymaic writing developed from Aramaic chancery writing. Transitional inscriptions scratched at Tang-e Chilau may date to the first century BCE or earlier; the clearest surviving stone inscriptions date from the first through third centuries CE. The script appears in administrative and royal writing, at sacred sites, and on coins. It is connected with Parthian, Mandaic, and Characenean scripts. Its relationship to Mandaic is debated: Elymaic may be its ancestor, a sibling, or a descendant.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 𐿧 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Elymaic block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
