What 𐙳 means
It may have had a syllabic role, but that is unproven.
A Linear A syllabogram represents a spoken syllable; a logogram stands for a word or recorded good. A 2024 analysis places A327 among signs that may appear in one or two syllable sequences, too few to establish what sound it carried.
What was Linear A used for?
It served record-keeping and dedications.
Clay tablets tracked goods moving into and out of storerooms. Stone offering tables from sanctuaries and objects from ritual or burial settings also carry inscriptions; their repeated formulas suggest religious use.
Linear A is attested by the end of the nineteenth century BCE and coexisted with Cretan Hieroglyphic, a separate Cretan script. By the beginning of the fifteenth century BCE it had become the main script across the Aegean. Linear B later reused much of its sign repertoire to write Mycenaean Greek, an early form of Greek.

1Why does 𐙳 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
