What 𐚩 means
It marks a vessel category, not a readable word. The VAS ending is a modern catalogue label for the vessel-sign group; it does not tell you how Minoan readers pronounced the sign.
The earliest recognizable Linear A evidence belongs to the early second millennium BCE on Crete, where palace records tracked goods. Vessel logograms fit that accounting work. By the Neopalatial period, inscriptions on cult objects also gave writing a ritual setting.
Its script history does not reveal a spoken reading
Linear A later provided a model for Linear B, which was used to write Mycenaean Greek. The A400–A418 vessel-sign series has no identified Cretan Hieroglyphic precursor in a 2022 comparison. That connection between scripts does not supply 𐚩 with a Linear B sound or a translated word.
