What 𐘭 means
“Ri” is an inferred sound label, not a translated word.
Linear A is first attested by the end of the nineteenth century BCE. Its early use grew with palace administration; later inscriptions also mark cult objects and ritual status.
Older lists split similar forms between ri and we. GORILA grouped them as AB53; a study of a Linear A inscription at Tel Lachish reopened the distinction. Scholars also compare its shape with Cretan Hieroglyph CH 010, a sign in Crete’s earlier hieroglyphic script. Ancient forms range from S-, Z- to 7-like, sometimes with dots or bars.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𐘭 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
