What 𐂉 means
Use Unicode input for U10089 or a Linear B ideogram keyboard.
A specialist Linear B keyboard lists ideograms in a separate panel and indexes them by Bennett number; choose 107M. Ordinary letter keys do not spell 𐂉.
What did the he-goat sign record?
It labeled a male goat and its counted quantity.
Linear B was used for Mycenaean Greek palace accounts. The earliest known deposits are associated with Knossos around 1450 BCE; that dates the surviving records, not this individual sign. Animal ideograms generally close a line or clause before a numeral, making 𐂉 a livestock-and-quantity label.
Linear A, an older Aegean script related to Linear B, has the corresponding AB022M sign (𐘔), also identified as a he-goat. This connects the signs through a historical script tradition, not just their appearance. Linear B carried that tradition into Mycenaean records; today, 𐂉 survives as a digital character.
Historical and specialist: it names a male goat in Linear B accounting records.
