What 𐃅 means
It labels a bathtub in a Linear B record.
A logogram labels an object rather than spelling its name. Linear B adapted Linear A around the 15th century BCE and was used to write Mycenaean Greek.
What records connect it to bathtubs?
Pylos lists two tubs; Knossos has a related sign.
PY Tn 996 is a Late Bronze Age inventory tablet from Room 20 at Pylos, dated to LH IIIB2; it records two bathtubs beside vessels entered by material, including gold and bronze. At Knossos, B246 (𐃑) is another bathtub ideogram. A separate Linear B inscription writes the related word with four syllabic signs: 𐀀𐀭𐀖𐀵.
In Homeric Greek, ἀσάμινθος means “bathtub.” By the first half of the first millennium BCE, other Greek words for bathtubs were more common, though this one remained in epic poetry.
