What 𐀱 means
It writes one syllable, “su,” rather than a whole word. Linear B is a syllabary: each syllabogram marks a consonant-vowel unit. Spelling could leave final consonants unmarked, so “su” gives a sound value, not a word’s translation.
Linear B adapted the earlier Linear A writing system to write Mycenaean Greek. Linear A is attested by the end of the nineteenth century BCE; surviving Linear B tablets around 1450–1150 BCE are mainly administrative clay records.

1Why do tablet drawings of 𐀱 differ?
Scribes varied how they drew Linear B signs. A difference between hands or tablets does not by itself change the sign’s conventional reading.
