What 𐤭 means
It marks a consonant within Lydian spelling, rather than a standalone sign.
Examples on coins and as graffiti are attested from the late eighth or early seventh century BCE through the third century BCE; longer, well-preserved inscriptions cluster in the fifth and fourth centuries BCE. Lydian was an ancient language of Anatolia, a region covering much of modern Turkey. Surviving stone texts are mostly funerary, alongside decrees, object inscriptions, and verse.
The Lydian alphabet is closely related to Greek and was probably adapted from an eastern form of the ancient Greek alphabet. Lycian and Carian are related Anatolian writing traditions.
Why does 𐤭 shift in mixed text?
Lydian text normally runs from right to left. So 𐤭 can appear in an unexpected position beside Latin text; that changes its placement, not which letter it is.
Mostly scholarly or historical; in ordinary chat, it reads as an unfamiliar script letter.
Do not replace it with Latin R when transcribing Lydian.
