What 𐦵 means
It is a Meroitic sign for a sound, not a standalone word.
The Meroitic te letter has readings “te” (t plus e), “tə” (where ə marks a weak vowel), or word-final “t,” depending on analysis.
Meroitic writing arose in Kush (ancient Nubia) in the 3rd century BCE. The earliest datable cursive text, around 200 BCE, names King Arnekhamani. Cursive is attested before hieroglyphic Meroitic and likely served trade and administration; hieroglyphic texts appear in royal and temple settings. Some cursive signs also entered the alphabet for Old Nubian, an older Nubian language, which used Greek and Coptic (a later form of Egyptian) letters.
