What 𐌠 means
A proposed link exists; the two signs are distinct characters.
The origin of Roman numeral I has several explanations. In 1988, Paul Keyser argued that Latin numerals developed from Etruscan tally marks, whose forms were later altered and shortened. Roman numerals spread across medieval Europe. This system-level theory does not establish that 𐌠 directly became Latin I.
