What 𐎧 means
Its consonant is written x in scholarly spellings.
In xšāyaθiya (“king”), 𐎧 supplies only the first consonant; a separate Old Persian sign, 𐏋, can stand for the whole title.
Behistun is the earliest known Old Persian inscription as of 2026. Darius I used it to proclaim his royal title and ancestry. Old Persian cuneiform was created for royal monuments rather than everyday writing; estimates date its invention to around 525 BCE or probably 519 BCE.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𐎧 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
