What 𐑲 means
It marks the vowel in English “ice,” like “eye.” Shavian uses 𐑲 inside words as one letter for that sliding vowel sound.
The Shavian alphabet was designed to give English a distinct letter for each speech sound. The winning design came from a competition held in 1958–60 and appeared beside ordinary spelling in a 1962 facing-page edition of George Bernard Shaw’s play Androcles and the Lion. After 1962, volunteer editions kept the alphabet in circulation among enthusiasts. Kingsley Read’s separate, related Quikscript was designed for cursive handwriting.
Use it in Shavian spellings or when discussing the English vowel sound.
Sent alone, it can look like a missing-glyph error if the reader’s font lacks Shavian support.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𐑲 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
