What means
It represents the vowel written ë in modern Albanian.
The distinct Todhri vowel corresponds to modern Albanian e.
Surviving writing reaches back to late-eighteenth-century Elbasan, including handwritten biblical copies and merchants’ records. The alphabet is linked to Theodor Haxhifilipi, called Dhaskal Todhri (“Teacher Todhri”), but whether he invented it is uncertain. Johann Georg von Hahn proposed Phoenician roots in 1854; Leopold Geitler argued for Greek and Roman cursive in 1883.
