What 𔐢 means
The label identifies the sign, not what it says. Unicode's Names List 18.0 gives no gloss or sound value for A033.
The script grew from pictorial signs in second-millennium BCE Anatolia. By around 1350–1200 BCE, Hittite rulers used its developed forms on seals and monuments to record names, titles, and deeds.
After the Hittite empire, successor states kept carving it in stone after 700 BCE. Most texts are Luwian, an ancient Anatolian language; “Hittite hieroglyphs” is an older name, and a few are Urartian or Hurrian. Lines ran right-to-left or alternated direction (boustrophedon). A Cretan link remains unproven as of 2026.

1Why does 𔐢 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Anatolian Hieroglyphs block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
