What 𞺮 means
It marks a distinct letter in Arabic mathematics.
Arabic algebraic symbols were in use by the late 12th century. A North African system appears in the margins of a 1747 copy of an algebra treatise written in 1380. Arabic- and Persian-script math uses letter styles to distinguish symbols, but this glyph has no fixed value outside its equation.
Unlike ordinary Arabic letters, mathematical forms do not join neighboring letters. A font needs this separate glyph; otherwise, a missing-character box may appear.

1Why does 𞺮 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
