What ֏ means
In Microsoft Word, enter 058F and press AltX.
If other hexadecimal characters touch the code, select only 058F first. Other apps and keyboard layouts vary; a system character picker can help when there is no direct key.
What does the Armenian dram sign mean?
It marks amounts in Armenia’s dram currency.
After the dram became Armenia’s national currency, business records developed compact marks for its amounts. The encoding proposal dates this design to 7 September 1995, pointing to a start-up’s cash-flow page as its earliest surviving record. It credits Karen Komendaryan and Ruben Arutchyan; the Central Bank of Armenia approved their design on 9 October 2001, Armenia registered the sign in a national standard in 2007, and it entered Unicode and ISO standards in 2012.
Why does the Armenian dram sign look different?
Fonts can change its outline without changing the character.
Unicode identifies the sign; the selected font draws its visible shape. The encoding proposal includes templates for different type styles. If a box or fallback symbol appears, the font may not include the sign; switch to a font with Armenian support.
Neutral and practical; it belongs beside a price, invoice, exchange figure or typed dram amount.
Use ֏ for a money amount; spell Armenian words with the letter դ.
