What ⢈ means
The Braille code assigns a sign to this pattern. ⢈ has raised dots 4 and 8 in an eight-dot cell.
Charles Barbier’s raised-dot system, known as “night writing,” preceded Louis Braille’s compact tactile reading and writing system for blind readers, which adapted Barbier’s approach. Later eight-dot extensions broadened Braille for music, mathematics and computer text.

Questions people ask
1Why does ⢈ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
