What ⷻ means
It supplies a Yu omitted from an abbreviated word. A raised letter used this way is called a letter titlo. One recorded Church Slavonic abbreviation containing ⷻ expands to нашю, “our.”
Titlo marks also appear in the tenth-century Kiev Folia, an early Slavic liturgical manuscript written in Glagolitic, a separate early Slavic script. Titlo could mark abbreviations or numerals; a raised letter could supply a letter left out of a word. A Yu-specific sample is reproduced in a paleography reference published in 1979.
How do I type ⷻ?
Enter the base letter first, then ⷻ. It appears above the letter but follows it in the text. A Church Slavonic keyboard design uses a superscription dead key followed by the Yu key; other layouts may differ.
The font controls how well the mark sits above its base. A dotted circle in a character chart only shows where a combining mark attaches; it is not part of ⷻ.
A specialist mark from historical and Church Slavonic spelling, rather than ordinary modern Cyrillic writing.
Read ⷻ as an omitted letter in an abbreviation; it is not a decorative form of ю.
