What 𞁦 means
It labels sound patterns rather than one fixed sound.
An archiphoneme groups sounds that merge in one position. In Bulgarian, a subscript can mark consonants that sound alike at a word’s end because the voiced one loses its voice vibration.
A Serbian dialect study from 1905 contrasts raised and lowered Cyrillic letters for stronger and weaker vowel values. Russian and Polish examples from 1981 and Bulgarian examples from 2007 show later subscripts marking sound groupings by context. Unicode encoded this form in 2022 for digital transcription.

1Why does 𞁦 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
