Elbasan Letter Ge

𐔊 is the hard-g letter ge in the Elbasan alphabet, devised around 1750 for Albanian. Its earliest known example is the 1761 Elbasan Gospel manuscript, where it spells Albanian Gospel passages for Orthodox church services. The 1908 Congress of Manastir on Albanian spelling approved two alphabets; the Latin-based one eventually became standard. Most Elbasan letters are original, though some shapes may echo Greek or Cyrillic.
