What 𐌿 means
A Gothic letter, not a whole word.
Alone, it is no word; in Gothic spelling, it marks a vowel.
Why was the Gothic alphabet created?
For Bishop Wulfila’s Gothic Bible translation. In the fourth century, the translation drew on Greek, and the new alphabet’s letter order follows Greek.
The Codex Argenteus, a Gospel book copied in Italy in the early sixth century, is the most extensive surviving Gothic text. Gothic writing faded by the middle of the sixth century. In the early ninth century, scholars copied Gothic letter lists with pronunciation notes to study the script and decipher older texts.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𐌿 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Gothic block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
