What ⋗ means
It marks a specialized mathematical relation. A relation is a sign that connects two mathematical expressions. ⋗ belongs to formal notation, but the glyph does not define one universal inequality; the notation using it has to supply the rule.
Its documented history includes ISOAMSR (“Added Mathematical Symbols: Relations”), an ISO symbol set for mathematical relations. MathML, a markup language for mathematical expressions, listed ⋗ under ISOAMSR and gave gtdot and gtrdot as its names in the 2003 tables.
Formal and specialized; use it in notation that defines its relation.
Do not treat it as ordinary >; its mathematical relation needs a definition.
