What ⊷ means
It is the set of outputs a function gives for chosen inputs.
For a function f and a set A of allowed inputs, its image is {f(x) | x ∈ A}: apply f to each member of A and collect the results.
If f doubles each input, the image of {1, 2} is {2, 4}.
