What 𞲒 means
It names a complete 7,000 value, not separate digits. “Indic” identifies the South Asian branch of siyaq, written in Arabic script in records that include Urdu and Persian.
Where was Indic siyaq used?
Its earliest surviving evidence is a Baghdad financial account from 918–19 CE. Persian chancery scribes used the notation for government bookkeeping; its shorthand could keep amounts from unauthorized readers. Unlike abjad, an older Arabic letter-number system, siyaq used dedicated number signs.
In India, Indic siyaq was common under the Mughals by the 17th century and remained in use into the middle of the 20th. Northern and Deccani (southern) styles differed in some forms for thousands and larger values. Trained clerks could read the compact forms; other literate readers might not.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𞲒 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Indic Siyaq Numbers block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
