What 𐙷 means
A331 is the sign's inventory number. Linear A uses syllabograms (signs for syllables) and logograms (signs for words or goods); the number identifies this glyph.
Probably created on Crete, Linear A is attested from the 18th–14th centuries BCE; its earliest palace-period finds cluster at Phaistos. Clay records tracked goods into and out of storerooms, while repeated stone offering texts seem religious. Cretan Hieroglyphic, another Cretan script, shared some signs with Linear A. Linear A and Linear B are related scripts: Linear B adapted much of its syllabary for early Greek, but cannot reveal A331's sound.
