What 𞁍 means
It is Serbian Cyrillic ј set high on the line. Ordinary Serbian ј has the consonant sound at the start of English “yes.” In phonetic transcription, the surrounding notation gives this raised letter its exact reading.
A printed example appears in linguist Aleksandar Belić’s 1905 book on dialects of eastern and southern Serbia. Cyrillic superscripts record pronunciation details; in some traditions, subscripts mark sound categories instead.

1Why does 𞁍 become ordinary ј?
Unicode compatibility normalization (NFKC) maps it to ordinary Cyrillic ј, removing the raised form. Avoid NFKC when that distinction matters.
