What 𐍪 means
It is the letter named Oo in the medieval Old Permic script.
Old Permic began around 1372 as a writing system for Komi and Komi-Permyak, and it was used in Christian texts. Its creation is associated with the missionary Stephen of Perm.
Surviving examples include writing on religious icons (painted sacred images), glosses (brief explanations alongside text), inscriptions, and notes added in manuscript margins; one such note is dated 1486.
Its alphabet drew on Cyrillic and Greek letters and traditional Komi tamga signs. Later, Russian writers also used it as a cipher—a way to hide a message.
A historical-script character for discussion of Old Permic writing or Komi heritage.
