What 𐎢 means
The wedge shapes look alike; the scripts are distinct.
As of 2026, Darius I’s Bisotun inscriptions are the oldest known examples. The script’s creation is usually dated to around 519 BCE, though some trace its development to Cyrus, an earlier Achaemenid king. 𐎢 marks u inside a word.
Achaemenid kings used it mainly on royal monuments, sometimes beside Elamite and Babylonian texts, not for everyday writing. It was devised for Old Persian; only its l sign appears borrowed from Elamite or Neo-Babylonian cuneiform, because Old Persian had no l.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𐎢 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
