What ⋾ means
It refers to containing an element of a set.
A set is a collection of mathematical objects; an element is one of its members. The ordinary notation A x means that the set A contains the element x. This is membership, rather than a statement that one whole set contains another as a subset.
⋾ adds an overbar to the small version of that contains sign. Read it as a modified membership relation, keeping the bar when you reproduce it. To know what modification the author intends, check the definition of the barred sign in the text; the shape alone does not establish negation.
