What 🆞 means
It marks a TV program as 4K. In Japanese electronic program guides—the on-screen TV listings—it flags a program's picture format; 4K means a high-resolution image.
A proposal dated July 2015 grouped 🆞 with 18 other squared TV marks for ultra-high-definition (UHD) program listings. The set gave program guides text labels that could travel among TVs, computers, and phones.
Is 🆞 an emoji?
No; it is a text character, not emoji artwork.
A font draws the square and letters. Unicode's sample shape is only a guide, so the outline may differ between typefaces.
Technical and specialist; it fits a TV guide or a conversation already about picture resolution.
In casual chat, add “4K video” if the TV context is missing.

4Questions people ask
1Why does 🆞 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
