What 𐖮 means
It is the Vithkuqi letter for the vowel written o in Albanian. The character belongs to the Vithkuqi alphabet, created for writing Albanian.
Veqilharxhi began developing the alphabet around 1824–1825; the earliest surviving printed evidence is his spelling book from 1844. He wanted Albanian readers in Muslim, Orthodox, and Catholic communities to share an alphabet not tied to religious traditions associated with Latin, Greek, or Arabic writing. Vithkuqi later lost ground to Latin orthography.
Elbasan and Todhri are two other alphabets used to write Albanian. Sharing a language and historical setting does not establish that Vithkuqi descends from either.
Why does 𐖮 show up outside Albanian text?
As a reference to the alphabet or its cultural revival. As of 2026, revival work includes artistic and cultural uses such as tattoos. In a logo, tattoo, or alphabet chart, the letter points to Vithkuqi as a script.
When someone sends it alone, read it first as a letter sample, design reference, or cultural-history cue. Ask for context before treating it as a word or code.
A historical, design-led letter; on its own, it usually signals a Vithkuqi reference.
Latin o may look and read similarly, but it cannot stand in for this Vithkuqi letter.

2Why does 𐖮 show as a box?
Your font lacks the Vithkuqi glyph. Unicode stores the character separately from the font that draws it; use a font with Vithkuqi coverage.
Can I use 𐖮 in ordinary Albanian text?
Only as a deliberate historical-script choice. It represents o in Vithkuqi, while standard Albanian uses the Latin alphabet.
