What ᨈ means
It marks a ta syllable in Lontara.
Each consonant carries the vowel a; a sign changes it. Enter the sign after ᨈ, though fonts may show it before. Traditional Lontara omits syllable-final consonants, as Tagalog writing does, so context resolves words.
Lontara belongs to the Brahmi family, a broad South and Southeast Asian writing tradition; it is attested as early as the fourteenth century CE and may be related to Javanese. Historically, it served Bugis, Makasar, Mandar, Bimanese and Madurese languages. Manuscripts include chronicles, genealogies, diaries, registers, law, trade, medicine and astrological records. In the 1980s–2000s, local-language interpretation and schooling continued the written tradition.

Questions people ask
1Why does ᨈ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
