What ᝈ means
It writes na: the n sound followed by a built-in a.
Add ᝒ for i/e or ᝓ for o/u: ᝈᝒ, ᝈᝓ. Each sign follows ᝈ in text order, although a font draws it above or below.
Is ᝈ Baybayin?
No. ᝈ belongs to Buhid, a distinct Philippine script.
Buhid, Hanunóo and Tagbanwa are related but distinct Philippine scripts. They share features with writing systems rooted in Indian scripts; the route to Mindoro is uncertain.
Doctrina Christiana (1593), a printed Christian teaching book, records Tagalog writing, not Buhid. Mangyan bamboo materials were collected in 1894 and documented in 1904–05. Buhid writing carried poems called urukay and songs; by 27 April 2026, teaching and digital tools had extended it beyond bamboo.

Questions people ask
1Why does ᝈ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
