What 𐿂 means
It is a Chorasmian letter used in writing.
𐿂 is resh, one letter in the Chorasmian alphabet. Chorasmian was written from right to left in a connected script descended from Imperial Aramaic. Resh joins to the letter on its right, so its drawn shape can depend on its position beside other letters.
Aramaic script entered Chorasmia around the beginning of the 4th century BCE. Old Chorasmian inscriptions and documents are known from about the end of the 2nd century CE, including coins and texts on wood or parchment. Those dates describe the script's surviving record, not a separately dated first appearance for 𐿂.
Where did the Chorasmian script come from?
It developed from Imperial Aramaic for writing Chorasmian.
Surviving examples include coin inscriptions, palace lists of soldiers, food and supply records, silver vessels, and inscriptions on ossuaries—containers for human bones. The script served everyday records as well as public and memorial writing.
Parthian, Inscriptional Pahlavi, Psalter Pahlavi, Book Pahlavi, and Old Sogdian are related branches of the wider Aramaic writing tradition. They are not alternate names for 𐿂. Later Chorasmian used a modified Arabic script in glosses and legal quotations from the 5th/11th to the 8th/14th centuries; Turkish eventually displaced it.
What does 𐿂 mean when someone sends it?
A lone 𐿂 needs context to explain why it was sent.
Check whether the sender is discussing an old inscription, a Chorasmian word, or how a font displays the letter. A single letter does not give enough context to identify the sender's intended message.
Chorasmian runs right to left, and resh joins on its right. A font may connect or reshape it beside another letter; that is writing behavior, not a change in what the character means.
Specialist and historical; a lone character can look like a font test without context.
A lone 𐿂 does not explain its sender's intent; ask what text it belongs to.
