the rainbow flag stands for LGBTQ pride, and the transgender flag in light blue, pink and white stands for trans pride. Both are built by joining the white flag with another character, which is why very old systems may show them as a white flag next to a rainbow or a symbol.

Why flag emojis don't show on Windows

A country flag emoji is not one character but two letters, the country's code written in special regional indicator letters: makes . Phones and Macs draw the pair as a flag. Windows 10 and 11 do not include country flag pictures in their emoji font, so the same emoji shows up as the two letters, 'US', 'GB' or 'FR'.

The flag is still there: if you copy it on Windows and send it, the person on iPhone or Android sees the real flag. Some browsers and apps on Windows draw their own emoji and show flags normally.
