What 𒊔 means
In Sumerian, an ancient Mesopotamian language, kiši₄ means “half.” The word also has a “half-shorn” sense marking low status or punishment in Old Babylonian, Neo-Assyrian, and Hellenistic texts. Other values include keš₄, keše₄, and kiše₄; Akkadian muttatum also means “half.”
SAG NUTILLA is the sign’s label, not a translation. Proto-cuneiform, an early stage of cuneiform, lists SAG@n as ZATU441; later lists identify 𒊔 as SAG@n. The wedge-shaped script began in Uruk, a Mesopotamian city, in the late fourth millennium BCE for institutional records, then served several languages. Fonts vary by period and region.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𒊔 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Cuneiform block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
