What 𞁔 means
It tracks a language’s sound contrasts, not everyday spelling. A phonetic transcription shows how a sound is pronounced; phonological notation tracks which sounds a language treats as distinct. An archiphoneme is a category for a contrast that disappears in a particular context, such as two consonants merging at a word end.
One Serbian dialect notation cited from Belić in 1905 used subscripts and superscripts to distinguish stronger and weaker vowel values. Bulgarian archiphoneme examples from 2007 use subscript ghe among their marks. These traditions do different jobs, so check the source’s transcription key before assigning a reading.
