What 🁌 means
One real domino tile, placed horizontally: 3 left, 6 right.
A domino is a flat tile split into two squares, each marked with 0 to 6 dots (pips). A standard double-six set has 28 tiles, and 3–6 is one of them. On a table the same tile can lie either way round or stand upright, and Unicode encodes each of those looks separately: 🁌 (3–6), (6–3), and (upright). Pick the one that matches the picture you are drawing, as when writing out a line of play.
The oldest domino-like tiles come from China, where tile games are recorded from about the 12th century and their dot patterns follow dice. Tiles of the European kind, where matching ends are laid edge to edge in a chain, appear in Italy and France in the 18th century and are now played around the world. Whether they came from China or arose separately is still debated.
Neutral and literal: it means the game tile, typically in game discussions, diagrams or puzzles.

Questions people ask
2Why do I see an empty box instead of the tile?
Your device or app has no font that draws it. This is a text symbol, not an emoji, so support varies; a font that covers the Domino Tiles block shows it.
Is there a domino emoji?
No. Unicode has no domino emoji; these tiles are ordinary symbols.
