What ⴥ means
It is a letter used within Georgian words. ⴥ is the Nuskhuri small-letter partner of Asomtavruli Ⴥ. Together, the two forms belonged to Khutsuri, a Georgian church writing system.
Nuskhuri developed from Asomtavruli as a more angular, practical hand for manuscripts. Early surviving examples include an inscription at Ateni Sioni dated 859 AD and a Nuskhuri manuscript dated 864 AD.
Everyday Georgian is written in Mkhedruli; Nuskhuri appears in church and heritage settings. People who know only everyday Georgian may not recognize it, while church practitioners and script specialists work with its register.
Historical and ecclesiastical: it points to a church, manuscript, or heritage setting.

Questions people ask
1Why does ⴥ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
