What 삣 means
One Korean syllable; context sets its reading.
The 1989 dialect note glosses 삣다 as 삐었다 (“sprained”); the regional bird guide uses 삣 to imitate a short call.
Hangul groups letters into syllable blocks. Devised under King Sejong in 1443 to make Korean easier to learn, it is explained in the 1446 book Hunminjeongeum. 삣 joins ㅃ, ㅣ, and ㅅ.
Context-dependent Korean syllable.

1Why does 삣 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
