What 뽽 means
The earliest record of Hangul’s creation is dated to 1443.
The 1446 guide was titled 훈민정음 (“Proper Sounds for the Instruction of the People”) and explained the script’s design and purpose: writing Korean. Later names included 정음, 언문 and 반절; after 1894, 국문 and 국서 became common. Records suggest 한글 was in use by the early 1910s; the name spread after the holiday was renamed in 1928.

1Why does 뽽 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
