hangul syllable bbyih

Hangul Syllable Bbyih

5264/11172

삏 (bbyih) is a Hangul syllable block; as of September 2026, it has no established standalone meaning in ordinary Korean. Hangul joins consonant and vowel letters in blocks to write Korean. It was introduced in 1443 as Hunminjeongeum, designed to represent Korean speech more directly than writing based on Chinese characters; an explanatory book appeared in 1446. A link to the earlier Phags-pa script is proposed, but unproven.
