What 벞 means
벞 is a Hangul syllable, not a standalone translation.
Hangul is the Korean alphabet. This syllable block combines the letters ㅂ, ㅓ and ㅍ; the surrounding word or abbreviation supplies its meaning.
Hangul was designed to make writing Korean easier to learn. The court chronicle of King Sejong mentions 훈민정음 in 1443; an explanatory book from 1446 describes how initial, middle and final sounds combine into syllable blocks. Earlier systems such as 이두, 구결 and 향찰 adapted Chinese characters to represent Korean. Later names for the writing system included 정음, 언문 and 반절. After 1894, 국문 and 국서 were common names; 한글 began appearing in the 1910s and was widely used by 1928. These are names for the writing system, not meanings of 벞.
Why did someone send 벞?
In Dungeon & Fighter chat, 벞 points to a support role.
Dungeon & Fighter (DFO) is an online game. As of 2026, its players use 벞 as shorthand for 버퍼, a support character whose abilities strengthen teammates. 벞교 abbreviates 버퍼 교환, or buffer exchange: participants bring three damage dealers and one buffer each, then rotate support through four runs. This is a game convention, not everyday Korean vocabulary.
If it arrives without a game cue, ask the sender what they mean; the bare syllable does not settle the reading.
Neutral as Korean spelling; insider-coded in Dungeon & Fighter chat. As of 2026, that shorthand is game-specific.
A bare 벞 can leave a non-player guessing which role the sender means.
