What 뵞 means
It is one Korean syllable, not a standalone word. The jamo in 뵞 are initial ㅂ, vowel ㅚ and final ㅈ; “boej” names the structure, not a translation.
The earliest Hangul record dates to 1443; King Sejong's court devised the script for Korean. The Hunminjeongeum guide appeared in 1446. Older labels included jeongeum, eonmun and banjeol; after the Gabo Reform in 1894, gukmun and gukseo became common, and Hangeul was a familiar name by 1928. A proposed influence from Phags-pa, a Mongol-era script, remains debated; the 1446 Haerye commentary weakened the resemblance argument by explaining Hangul's own design.
