What 뷬 means
It is a syllable, not a word with a built-in definition.
Unicode’s name “Bwik” describes the structure: three Hangul letters, ㅂ ㅟ ㅋ—an initial consonant, a vowel, and a final consonant. It is a character label, not a translation or pronunciation guide.
Read the block as one syllable inside Korean text; the full word and sentence carry the meaning.
Why does Hangul put letters into blocks?
Each block groups the letters that make one Korean syllable.
King Sejong introduced Hangul in 1443, when Korean was written using Chinese characters. The script was called 훈민정음, a title meaning “proper sounds for teaching the people.” An explanatory book with the same title appeared in 1446 and described the script’s purpose and design.
Jamo are Hangul’s component letters. Unicode can store a modern syllable as one precomposed character or as a sequence of those letters.
How do I type 뷬?
Enter ㅂ, then ㅟ, then ㅋ in a Korean input method.
A Korean input method editor (IME) combines those jamo into one block as you type. If you use a Latin-only keyboard layout, enable Korean input first.
Fonts arrange Hangul parts within a square syllable cell, so the same character can look different across fonts. Without a Hangul-capable font, it may appear as a fallback box or a blank.
