What 뱮 means
On Korean 2-set input, press q, ShiftO, s, g. The input method composes the jamo as one syllable block.
The 뱮 jamo decomposition is ᄇ ᅤ ᆭ; the same three parts are commonly shown as ㅂ ㅒ ㄶ. If they appear separately, it is the decomposed spelling of the same syllable; fonts determine the components' exact placement and shape.
What does 뱮 mean?
One Hangul syllable; its role depends on its word.
Hangul’s documented beginnings are tied to 1443 and 1446: the Sejong Sillok, a chronicle of King Sejong’s reign, records the Hunminjeongeum in 1443, and an explanatory book about it appeared in 1446. The script was designed to write Korean speech with an alphabet of its own: consonants and vowels combine as beginning, middle, and ending parts of syllable blocks. 뱮 is one such spelling unit, not a separately invented emblem.
The square syllable layout was also shaped by the visual form of Chinese characters, the symbols used in Chinese writing; each block here arranges Korean letters.
Neutral as Korean spelling; alone, it is best treated as a fragment until context arrives.

Questions people ask
1Why does 뱮 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
